I grew up in the era before the internet; it was a time where being active, playing sports and being outside was the way of life. Those days are behind us, never to reappear again.
We live in a world now where technology rules, we can be thankful for the many benefits of technology. However, that means we are doing less moving and sitting more than ever.
I heard recently “Sitting is the new smoking.” This blew me away, because I know how true it is.
Kids are not outside playing. They are behind computers, TV’s and video games. This has taken our society to an all-time high in numbers with obesity and heart disease being the #1 killer of both men and women. What example are you currently setting for your family, kids and friends to be healthier?
These facts are what have propelled me to share the knowledge and experience I have gained over the years. Families must, as a whole, become more active in their daily life.
I was inspired by my daughter who is my hero, my best friend and today is a well renowned celebrity trainer. From the time she was a little girl she had a love for fitness and health. She was carrying her Tupperware eating 6 meals a day before it became the in thing to do. She is also one of the founders that you will be working with on your journey. We would have so many conversions about what it takes to be successful in having the body you want and the lifestyle you deserve. What we noticed was all of the similarities for both. I have always been passionate about knowing what made successful people successful and she has always been driven to work with people to have great health.
I must admit it took a while for me to follow all the advice I was getting from my daughter. I was working out but still eating anything that I wanted without regard to the impact it would have on my body. As I got older I could no longer do that and became a much better at listening to her suggestions. Also I became more and more aware of my desires or cravings for certain foods and when those feelings came on I would automatically give in. As I am sure you already know the cravings I was having were for processed, sugary and salty foods that had no real nutritional value. That is when it really became clear how much mindset, emotional experiences and past conditioning impact what we do in our lives. There are many reasons why we have these cravings and it is necessary to have the proper education to overcome them.
I was amazed to find out what was really going into some of the food I was eating. Fortunately today we have much more information than we ever had before and can make better choices as to what we put into our bodies. The marketing techniques, preservatives and chemicals that go into some foods literally can have you addicted to eating them.
I have been blessed for the last 35 years of my life not to have any alcohol or mood alternating chemical in my body. Many of the processes and solutions I learned staying sober a day at a time allowed me to apply the same principles to the food I was craving. Everything we are talking about has to be handled from a physical, emotional, mental and spiritual plane.
What became so clear was that rather you wanted to have success in your business, build a new career or have a healthy lifestyle you would be required to have the discipline and mindset for it to happen. Many people dream about having a life that they are passionate about however they rarely do anything about it. They want to be able to create their livelihood doing what they love however they continue to sit on the couch and watch TV. They desire to be healthy and have a body that they are proud of however they continue to eat the same crappy food and do not work out. What we discovered is that no matter what you desire it all starts from the inside and making a committed decision to change your life. The key is to define your life from the inside out and create an InnerFit lifestyle.
We know that if you truly desire to have excellent health and true freedom you have to be in control of your time and destiny. When I was growing up the culture was to go get a good job and work at the same place for 30 or 40 years and retire with a gold watch. Today we understand that is no longer the case. Rather you are working for yourself or with a company you have to have the skills of an entrepreneur to be truly successful. When you are healthy and feel good about yourself it is easier to create your livelihood from what you love to do. Your confidence and self esteem is higher and you are ready to make a difference in the community of people you serve.
